Our Churches

St Mary's Parish has two churches, St Mary's situated in the village of Rasharkin and St Columba's commonly known as 'The Plain's' situated on the Bendooragh Road approx 5 miles north west of Rasharkin. St Mary's church was dedicated on the 20^th September 1845, St Columbas was dedicated 9th June 1872. 

Recent research has uncovered a newspaper article which reported on the centenary of the dedication of St Mary's, the document gives a wonderful insight into the events of the day and quotes a sermon given by Fr Columban McGarry.  It can be viewed under St Mary's Centenary.
